In Palmer Trailer Justin Timberlake Plays A Father Figure

Justin Timberlake is Palmer in a new movie coming to Apple TV+. Now I’ll tell you, there is a lot of good programming on Apple TV+. So, if you don’t have it yet I strongly advise you to sign up today. In the Palmer trailer, we meet Eddie Palmer a former high-school football star who went from hometown hero to convicted felon. After serving a 12-year sentence he returns home to live with his grandmother to try to rebuild a quiet life for himself. After that, their guttersnipe neighbor vanishes, leaving her precocious 7-year-old son Sam in Palmer’s care.

In time, Palmer is drawn into a more hopeful world as he forges a connection with Sam. Especially, since they are both being bashed by the town folk for being different. Palmer being a felon and Sam, being rather progressive, to say the least. After watching the Palmer trailer I realize that I haven’t seen a movie like this before. “Palmer” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on January 29, 2021. I’m hoping this movie will highlight what it means to hold someone’s brokenness over their head. Because far too often people aren’t giving the room to grow.

Palmer wants to improve his life. For instance, he’s being a father figure to a unique kid and got romantically involved with Sam’s teacher Maggie –  played by Alisha Wainwright. Still, people remind him of his criminal past and declare he has no right to look after any child.

Something To Remember

This reminds me of words spoken during a sermon on FCBCNYC by Pastor Mike Walrond Jr. He was talking about how we are all unfinished, we are all unfixed and the reality is where God meets us is at the mess of our life. Saying, “I love the idea that God shows up in my unfixedness.”
